Fertility Acupuncture

Fertility acupuncture is an integrative therapy that involves placing very fine, sterile needles at specific points on the body to influence circulation, hormonal balance, and nervous system activity. In reproductive health, acupuncture is thought to improve blood flow to the ovaries and uterus, promote endometrial receptivity, and help regulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis, which can support ovulation and menstrual regularity.

It is often used both independently and as an adjunct to fertility treatments such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intrauterine insemination (IUI). Acupuncture may also help reduce stress and anxiety during fertility journeys by promoting relaxation and lowering stress hormone levels. While evidence is mixed regarding its direct impact on live birth rates, some findings suggest potential improvements in clinical pregnancy rates when combined with assisted reproductive technology, particularly in women with previous unsuccessful cycles.

This approach is generally safe when performed by trained practitioners using sterile techniques and can be tailored to the different phases of the menstrual cycle or specific reproductive challenges.
